Yes! It was lovely. LOVED the sly pokes at Civil War, love Tony being ultra-competitive, Sam the voice of reason, Nat as the real ringer (and Clint was the one who told them -- she's always underestimated!), the whole thing. It was so sweet and poignant, but not sappy.

CW really does feel like end of an era, doesn't it?

I really really truly don't want it to be over either, because I got fannish about TWS in a way I hadn't about anything in a long while and it also got me writing again after years and years, but....it's very weird to me, a lot of Steve/Bucky writers didn't seem to like AoU or CW, but they also don't want to write stuff that breaks off from TWS or incorporates some stuff from AoU and CW without just accepting it all wholesale. I mean, YOU do that, and you do a beautiful job with it, but people kind of seem interested in either following canon without much fiddling (which means they drop off if they don't like it) or going extreme AU. There isn't that middle ground I got used to when I first came into fandom, of people playing around but doing it within the broad lines of canon.

I do personally think CW closes down canon in a way that TWS didn't. Not only is it the last Cap movie, I guess, but all of Team Cap is pretty much in total limbo, including Steve, whereas in TWS they had some direction -- Fury was going off to Europe, Nat was going off to do her own thing, Sam and Steve were going to find Bucky. But after the end of CW, is Steve going to stay in Wakanda to shield Bucky? Is he going to go all Nomad? Is he going to somehow find a way to protect the other fugitives, or are they going to form a rogue Avengers squad? Who knows....

I don't mean to sound like a total downer, I'm just kind of frustrated and sad because TFA/TWS was just exactly my jam and I loved the creativity everyone felt in the past two years or so, and I don't want it to fade away.

I wish I could be up there with you guys--Keith changed the day we were getting together, but then I came down with a cold the other day and I'm still probably contagious. I hope you all are having a great time, despite the dodgy weather!

Definitely; it was really nice to read a story that was emotionally significant but very low key stakes-wise.
