I think there's a definite problem, especially with humor, where you can be too close to the project. You look at something a few dozen times, all in a row, and of course you see all the flaws. You lose track of the funny. You see where all the seams are and it makes it difficult to tell what's funny to anyone else.

Which is why I think you should listen to your friends when they tell you it's funny. Not just because you should always listen to your friends (which you should, of course *g*), but because we're looking at it with fresher eyes and a different perspective. A little mini audience, before you take the show on the road, as it were.
