Also suspicious of prescribing antidepressants for pain patients, or people with problems surrounding physical sensations. I was given TCAs as part of my chronic pain meds trials, and they had zero effect. Statistics don't lie if done right; they seem to have made a significant enough difference for some folks. I recall wanting to be among them, desperately, and I note I'm generally pro-psychopharmaceuticals…but for actual depression or anxiety, not for conditions the root cause of which should be treated instead.
