I'm already on some meds that treat a similar to thyroid condition, so I think they already check me yearly on those things, but it definitely won't hurt to ask when I go in for my yearly checkup.
I was amazed when I was listening to an interview with a thyroid specialist a few years ago how many people have untreated thyroid problems. She said, "IF you see someone wearing shorts and sandals in freezing weather, it's likely they have thyroid problems." So now my response to anyone who says they have any health issues is "get your thyroid checked!"
I'll mention the T3 thing, as it's entirely possible that one thing is being treated, but another is not.
