CVV: Brick House (and Darkness, Darkness streaming version)

A while ago during the 30 days of TV meme, I mentioned putting up a new streaming copy of Darkness, Darkness, the Miracles vid Jo and I made years ago. I had to post new vids for the VVC shows, so I figured I'd go ahead and put that up, since in recent months there've been a bunch of links to it (for reasons I'm not sure I know!). I haven't seen it in years, and I have to admit: that was a really good vid! ;-) I never say that about my stuff, but seeing it again after so long was kind of cool, like watching something done by someone else. I really should remaster that one, too.

And then there's this vid I made this year for Club Vivid. I have no idea if it's even showing tonight or not, but here it is, anyway! A thousand million thanks cubed to marycrawford for the Herc clips -- she is aces, people!

Since I don't know what the schedule is like this year, I have no idea when non-attending premieres is scheduled, so I don't know if I can post the Ratatouille vid I made for that show (or, again, if it's even in the show). OK! Will put that up later!

Holy crackers, "Brick House" is AMAZING. GINA FUCKING TORRES, ladies and gentlemen. Yowza.

I think what I love most is that you could totally have made a vid solely about how unbelievably freaking hot she is, and obviously that is important here, but it is ALSO a vid about what a badass she is, about how cool it is to see her wielding a sword or shooting a gun. And the character reactions are fantastic, especially in the intro but throughout; Wash's "...the place where her legs meet her back" is perhaps my personal favorite, but then I do have a soft spot for Firefly. Hee.

This is going straight onto my list of Vids That Make Me Feel Better When Life Sucks. Thank you so, so much for making and sharing it.

Aw, you have no idea how happy this makes me. It totally is about how much I love her badass self -- I first fell in love with her because she was always in these shows playing really strong women, with weapons, and she just seemed so powerful in her sexuality and her strength and... well, dangerousness. I loved that about her so much. Even when she's playing desk jockeys or something, you just think, underneath that businesswear is a kickass woman who could fuck your shit up!

I knew Wash's line had to go on the 36-24-36 line -- even when I first was envisioning it as a multifandom femme heroes vid, I knew that was his line. ;-)
