Also premiering vid Hold on Tight

Here's the other premiering vid from Vividcon. I have wanted to vid Ratatouille since I first saw it, but I could never find a song for it. One day last winter I was driving along and Hold on Tight came on the radio, and I was all, "That's it! That's the song!" Which was also, unfortunately, not long before Charmax's wonderful Wall*E vid came out, also to an Electric Light Orchestra song, Mr. Blue Sky, and Talitha's lovely Up vid for Fireflies came out. The last thing I wanted to do was make a vid that seemed like I was ripping off two people whose talents I greatly admire, so I sat on it. And sat on it. Then the VVC crap started flying, and I felt like the only thing I could motivate myself to do within the timeframe was something sweet, simple, and that would make me feel happy.

Now if I could just find the right song for the Incredibles, Iron Giant, and Lilo and Stitch vids I would love to someday make. ;-)

I think that's definitely true -- and I'm so glad you feel that way. I don't think I have a bad mood these days that I don't go watch Mr. Blue Sky to feel better, and working on this had a similar effect -- the artist and the subject are just meant to be together to make something happy.

So I...kind of hate ELO. And that I was able to largely ignore that and enjoy the vid is, hopefully recognizable as a big compliment to the fantastic editing and your ability to make the upbeat tempo and mood really work.

This is also the first vid for non-anime animation I've come across. That's a pleasant surprise right there.
