Introducing older cats can take a while. When I was fostering, I would keep them separated for the first 3-7 days (depended on the cats' personalities). With a closed door between. When the hissing and puffed tails at the door stopped, I let them out for supervised togetherness for increasingly longer periods of time, always engaging one or the other in play during those times so they could be a little interested and yet distracted in each other's presence. Usually worked well. Although, I did have one pair that took about 6 months to finally warm up to each other - but they were both calico females, the crankiest in the world ;)

Good luck! I don't see how anyone could not love that guy's face :D
