I may be coming in way too late, but I'm pretty sure that you can get Gmail to hit your Mac Mail system on your computer. I also know that you can set it (I was referring to Mac Mail, but you can also have another domain's mail go to a gmail account, if you're travelling and would like to see it all in one place) up with several accounts--I used to do that before I went to gmail pretty much full-time. You'd have the initial annoyance of setting it up, but then it should just go to Mail, and you shouldn't have to muck around with it much at all.
