I've been a little disappointed with this season of The Wire as well. I'm not sure how much reading others' comments about the newspaper storyline has affected me--in other words, I'm not sure I would have noticed quite as much that some of those characters were less complex than the usual for The Wire--but I am finding that storyline somewhat disappointing, despite my enormous love for Clark Johnson as Gus. I have seen 59, and now I'm just torn up at the idea that there's only one episode left, ever!
The Omar death--I, too, wanted something more done with that, but at the same time I can totally see why it was appropriate that it happen the way it did--showing that, after all, Omar was not Spiderman, that he could die the same way so many have, you know?
