Yeah, the books are like that too - heartbreaking but also very lovely. And after I read your post, I got e-mail from PBS that they're starting the first one on Masterpiece Mystery on SUNDAY! YAY! So tomorrow evening, I get to see it too.

It looks like they're doing one book per film, at least based on the descriptions of the first two episodes they're airing.
