I've almost never had a story recced in any Yuletide ever; I think I can only recall it happening once. I think the thing that really bugs me is that my recipients never mentioned their gifts, and that definitely doesn't help--and few of my recips have ever done that, and I have almost always done that for my authors. I mean, they don't have to, and if they don't like it that's their prerogative, but it sure doesn't help when even their readers or followers don't know they have a story in a fandom they talk about.

It's just been one long streak of stories that I've worked really hard on, and been met with indifference, even from friends in the fandoms, and so it just felt like the crap cherry on top of the blechy sundae. Not enough to keep me from writing, but it's not entirely encouraging, either.
