I bounced off Broadchurch hard, probably a lot of that because of Tennant but I think also the theme--but I love Olivia Coleman so much I've often considered trying again. That's a good point about the show missing something if you haven't read the book--I'm super happy people have something they love, but it's not something I really got that much out of personally.

I keep hoping something might come along to make me feel less gutted by Endgame, but...that appears to not be happening.
