Fandom is a stupid goddamn hobby
My fucking iMac screen has totally died, right when I have to finalize my auction vid (which my owner, killabeez, totally loved yay!) and make my premieres vid. I’d had trouble last week but thought I’d fixed it, only now it’s completely fried and I have to drag this behemoth up to the Apple store tomorrow. The past hour has been a comedy of errors with me trying to update older programs on my ancient computer and them refusing to update.
I was already feeling crappy enough. I haven’t been able to write at all outside of commentfic, and finally felt like I was making some progress on a completely different fic today (I now have four [WTF?] partially written stories because I can’t fucking write) and was in the right frame of mind for the emotionality of this story and able to churn out over 2,000 words today. So much for eking more out this week.
I don’t know who I want to kill more right now, Apple or myself. Now I have no idea if I will be able to meet the premieres deadline.

Also, partially written stories totally count as writing, whether you end up finishing them or not!

Once the Apple store gives you an ETA on when it'll be fixed, maybe email Ian, tell him what happened, and see if you can get an extension if you need one?

(And I hear you about the multiple WIPs that are becoming roads to nowhere.)

The big thing I'm worried about is that if they do a clean install, I will lose everything--a QT that works with my slightly older OS, the FCP you installed, and of course I hadn't backed up my recent purchase of AfterEffects because I forgot all about it when I DLed it, and I don't know if the programs are going to be re-downloadable, since I didn't know how to make copies of them. I know I shouldn't have let my panic attacks about all this make me unsafe, especially after that hard drive crash, but it's so overwhelming and confusing to me, backing up video and the programs and such, that I just didn't do it.
So I'm finding that by trying to use my older computer, I can't get certain Agent Carter files to work. And if they clean install, then I lose FCP and and all that stuff. I will need to finalize the vid for you--and I don't know if I'll be able to at this point make the Agent Carter vid for premieres, or any vid at all. I could bring the hard drive up to at least finalize your vid and do the color correction. I wouldn't want to expect you to come down here to reinstall FCP, especially after traveling.
I don't know. Right now I'm just constantly on the verge of crying because I'm so stupid and let myself get so overwhelmed by this stuff. And angry at Apple for the crappy computer.
