His bodyguard

OMG, loved Chuck last night so much. Chuck the show, Chuck the guy, Chuck the spy with training wheels. But as far as I'm concerned, the best part of all was the stuff at the Buy More with Morgan hiring Casey to be his bodyguard/respect commander. That was so brilliant and a lovely little shoutout to Adam Baldwin's first film, My Bodyguard. When I realized where it was going I shrieked with glee. That was where I fell in love with him, and have stayed in love with him since then (1980, people!). I would not mind if that part of the story stuck around a bit.

Unlike most people who watch Chuck that I know of, I seem to be in a minority in that I enjoy the Buy More. I miss Anna, but I'm glad it's still part of the show. Lester and Jeff are simply too awesomely loathsome and horrible to not be funny, and as I said when the show first started, the sight of Adam Baldwin in the green shirt will never not be funny to me. I loved last week's Fight Club stuff so very much. Whoever does their fight makeup did an outstanding job.

I liked that Chuck has matured enough to come up with a decent alternate story for why he's on the plane, and how well he handled the situation overall. And while I'm not keen on Shaw, I do like that he's forcing Sarah and Casey to realize they've hindered his development that way. No, he may never be able to do the hard things like killing someone, but that's not really the kind of spy he wants to be, anyway. I know that everyone who watches Smallville hates Kristin whassname, but I didn't think she was that awful, so I kind of wondered about that. She had great chemistry with Zach Levi. How come everyone hates her so much? Fanon thing or canon?

Also, Morgan waking up in the animal grab box just... oh, I really do need to vid this show, and soon.

Yes!!
There's one moment where Casey looks down at Morgan that made me squeal aloud last night. I tried explaining it to my younger sister, but you really did need to love the source. I'm new to Chuck, but I love the Buy More bits too.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who doesn't hate the Buy More. I have a deep desire to see My Bodyguard again right now, but I realize I never replaced it on dvd. This must be rectified!

I love KK. Her Smallville character was poorly written, and she wasn't really allowed to stretch her acting wings at all, but she was great in Eurotrip.

Casey and the Buy More are fabulous - and even more fabulous when they interact.

I love the fact that they keep bringing up the Beastmaster with Casey all the time. His specialty!!!

It's weird, I've just never heard anyone say anything positive about her, but I thought she was totally charming in Chuck. I guess it might be another case of the misogyny I see in some of my slash friends a lot of the time, or else they've conflated the issue with her characterization on Smallville with the actress herself.

I have often felt like the only person in fandom who likes her! I think it's a little of both the things you suspect, plus in that S1 Rolling Stone article, she apparently came off unlikeable? (Which, per an interview shortly after in a local--Vancouver--entertainment rag, was largely because the interviewer was insanely skeevy and freaking her out. She just seemed so young and bewildered in the Vancouver article that I've always wanted her to do well since I read it.)

I think that if she'd got her start on a Whedon show, her talents would have been nourished and grown (for all the issues I have with Whedon, that's one thing he's done well by with his actors--see Summer Glau) and fandom would love her. Instead, she got screwed and stifled by M&G and company.
