Who Reaps a Human Harvest in Alien Fields by
annakovsky (The Martian, 16,703 words, M)
Summary: Mark is pretty sure there's something up here with him, hunting him.
This is an amazing look at Mark's fears becoming manifest when he's alone on Mars and when he thinks he's lost Chris--but finding his way back to himself. This is genuinely creepy at times, and the psychological horror is really successful, but ultimately it's about Mark saving himself from his fears in a completely different way than just sciencing the shit out of things.
