Thankfulness

gwynMany thanks to all the wonderful people on my flist who wished me a happy birthday -- one of the things about a b-day around Thanksgiving here in the States is that you get used to people missing it, and so it was really, really nice to see so many people throwing wishes my way. morgandawn and sweet_ali for the lovely gifts, which you shouldn't have done, but I'm grateful and touched regardless. And many thanks to the people who responded to my post about my dad and the house -- it really touched me that so many of you responded to that story in the way that I did, and gave me seriously warm fuzzies.
I had a quiet day that I mostly spent cutting back things in the garden for winter, especially my giganimous silver rosemary bush and all the different lavenders and sages. I smelled like the inside of a Lush shop by the time I was done, I swear. And had some of my purple cake --feochadn, who is an incredible cook, made me a Red Velvet Cake, but ran out of red food coloring (it usually takes a whole bottle) and substituted blue, and so I got me a Purple Velvet Cake. Few people can say they got a purple cake for their birthday, I'm betting.
Then I captured source for my LFN vid, reminding me why I hate the capture process so much. Why can't all the clips just be there? It's so time-consuming and boring when I just want to get started trying to figure out what the vid is going to say.
Now I need to get focused on writing my spec article and also the sex scene for the upcoming chapter of Ciudad de Estrellas that I had running through my head on the commute this morning. Dom and Brian getting frisky is really not a safe thing to be thinking of while you're driving. Really, really not. I'm like, why are all those brake lights on up ahead? Why is traffic smooshed up oh and then Brian could flip him over on the bed screeeeeeeech aaauuggghhh wipe sweat from forehead from near-miss ten-car pileup. Smut is unsafe.
