Please feed the vidders!
Mar. 16th, 2006 10:38 amFor those of you who attended the vid show at Escapade or have watched your DVDs, but haven't checked the con community on LJ, there's a post where you can leave anonymous (or not) comments for the vids in the show. There are some vids with hardly any comments, and some with none, so I would really like to encourage you to drop a comment -- and if you haven't seen the show DVDs yet, many of the vids (nearly all, in fact) are online, so you can DL to your heart's content.
All you have to do is log out to leave an anonymous comment; the thread won't log your IP address, so you can feel free to say whatever you want (though, of course, pets are always welcome).
elynross came up with this great idea to generate more comments for the show vids, and
morgandawn put together all the links. It's as easy as finding the comment elyn set up for that vid, and hitting reply.
Seriously, it's very hard to keep working on your vids, to know what your audience responds to or doesn't, without some kind of input from viewers. We have our own ideas and stuff we want to achieve, we have our betas and friends, but there is nothing that helps people more than feedback from a larger audience. People go to great time and expense to produce these things, but get nothing in return. I know it's tough to find the time, but if you've had the chance to see the vids, a minute or two to reply to a comment is all it takes to help a vidder out. And if they gave you pleasure from their work, surely you can spare a minute to give them some pleasure in return and let them know?
Now that I've finally gotten my discs back, I am planning to sit down and comment on as many as I can, since I probably won't be doing a full review. And if you're a vidder who had a vid in the show or have watched it, please consider linking to the post to help get the word out.
