Oh, I'm so sorry! And that feeling of losing your stuff, and not being able to think... yeah, I've seen that a lot, since I get to do some of the HR stuff around here, and I've been there, as well. If it's any consolation at all, it's pretty gut-wrenching for them that have to carry out the orders, too. Tomorrow, you might ask your boss if you could have CDs of your files, if they won't email them. We do that all the time, because our IT admin knows that people keep personal stuff on their hard drives. They're not obligated to be reasonable, but if your boss wants you to work for her later, she might be more inclined to plead your cause.
