White fawn, where are you?
Mar. 25th, 2004 08:19 pmI had a friend in my first real career job who used to talk to me about her spiritual guide, called White Fawn. I think it was based on some kind of new age religion thing, and she used to say that if she talked to White Fawn about the things she wanted, and lived a good life, and all, then White Fawn would send her positive vibes and make sure that those things happened.
I just talked to the managing editor of Dream Freelance Job, and I made the cut out of nearly 200 resumes, apparently, for interviews. But she's stressed out and finding that having people come in to take tests hasn't worked out, and wants to have me do an online timed test on Monday. I'm totally fine with it beyond the utter and complete panic that I will fail the creative writing part miserably, because writing isn't as easy-breezy for me as the editing part. There are a number of enticing things about this position, but most of all is the possibility of European travel somewhere down the line if you work out. I mean, I ask you.
I felt a little awkward because I wasn't mentally prepared for an interview (I'd just got back from visiting Dad, and it was a hairy drive home in torrential rain), and I think I sucked mightily on some of the unexpected questions, but at least I have the chance to do the mechanical part later, and I can gear up for that. So if you can spare a moment, please send me White Fawn vibes Monday morning around nine or so, pacific time. ;-) I'm going to need all the help I can get.

Date: 2004-03-25 09:46 pm (UTC)I know it's pointless to say don't worry, but don't! *g* You're *so* good at both editing and writing, and I just know you'll do really well. Dream job *can* become reality! I believe in you!

Date: 2004-03-26 01:32 am (UTC)Interview tests always freak me out. Happily, I think they freak everyone out, so at least you're starting from a favorable baseline.

Date: 2004-03-26 04:17 pm (UTC)Namaste means that the God/Goddess in me honors the God/Goddess in you. I bow toward you and toward the Buddha and and Kwan Yin and pray that the door be opened and that the path be the right one for you.
There is a wonderful picture of Buddha where he is sitting in meditation during the night he became enlightened. Mara, the embodiment of delusion, ordered his army to attack the Buddha. However, as their weapons came within his radiance, they all transformed from insturments of hame into gifts of adoration, into a rain of soft and fragrant flowers.
May your troubles be the same - from pain and anger and horrible low paid jobs into a rain of peace, self confidence and a job in which you are paid for what you are worth!
namaste!
