Still waiting

Sorry to those folks I told I would have part 6 of Ciudad up probably by mid-week. I have had a harder time whipping it into shape (I hate it more and more each time I look at it) and it took me a long time to get it to beta. I had a very, very bad night Monday (Restoration Hardware catalog + 24 finale = sobbing, guilt-ridden tears because it reminds me of the last night I had with my sister in her home, when I lay on her big sleigh bed that looks exactly like the one in the catalog, and watched 24) and this week is turning out to be a really bad one for me emotionally.

I hope I will post it by the weekend, which is stupid, I know, since everyone in the states will be gone for the big holiday weekend. But there you are.

Anyway, I did manage to get my gorgeous cover art by X up for the Spike and Buffy stories at my site. I'm all a-squee over them, and even if you care not one whit about my fic, the pictures are loverly and the design is *beautiful* and you should see them because they're by X and so they are wonderful and I am so grateful that she enjoyed my stories enough to make me art. The one for Heliotrope is here, and the one for The Measure of a Man, all parts that are done, starts here. I am blessed to have such a friend as her.

And then I will try, try, try to work on Measure ch. 9. No, really. I will try.

I'm sorry to hear about Monday night. You should have "show testers," like taste testers, to make sure shows are okay to view. I was watching something else (Without a Trace maybe) where I knew you would probably be watching it as well, and I was thinking, "God, this has got to be hard for Gwyn to see."

Also, I think you should take the edits from us betas and run with it. The new chapter is wonderful and I really don't think it needs very much work...certainly not enough that you should be hating it more! I know my taste is questionable so maybe you're taking that with a grain of salt, but hey, you trust me enough to give you feedback in the first place.

Congrats again on the cover art. :) As soon as school is out, I'm going to get to work on another project for you. In the meantime, here's a leering Johnny Strong for your viewing pleasure (not my creation, though, so credit if you grab).

Sorry i haven't commented recently, been a bit crazed on the homefront, but still sending you all kinds of love and strength and Im just sorry that this weeks was so hard on you.

I've peeked at lj so sporadically lately, but every time, it seemed like something was happening. Did I hear that you were in the hospital? If so, I'm sorry that I didn't know about it, I would never have ignored it -- and if that isn't true and I misread something, then just ignore *me*.

Isn't that Heliotrope cover lovely? It totally captured how I felt about it in those glowy letters, the dark and light... Makes me love that story all over again.
