Arg, this is so maddening. My DW page has become this ridiculously narrow column, in which all the pics from RSS feeds like Cakewrecks and Cheezburger are poking out the sides. I don't really care that they overrun the text in the right column, since that's all links and the titles of posts, and I don't use that much, but it's really ugly and I can't find any way to fix it. The latest updates post mentioned icons, but this isn't icons, it's photos in the journal posts themselves. Does anyone know how I can get the column width back to normal?

Maybe the solution for "fixing your layout" that was posted in this week's DW news will help?

How narrow do you mean? Because your journal style has a fairly narrow main column, from my perspective. Maybe it's just a matter of changing journal styles to one with a wider column layout? (I can't figure out if we can still look at something like the old LJ "friends of friends" thing, so I can't see exactly how your DW reading page looks to you. When I look at your journal directly, the main column is about half the width of the full page, if you take into account the blank space to the left and the sidebar stuff to the right.)

That is exactly what I was looking for, thank you.

Looking at that, I can see exactly what you mean, Gwyn. I think it's not something you can "fix" within DW. I get that kind of thing on my reading list, too, when people don't put big images/video/etc. behind a cut. It used to be that images like that "broke" the page layout by actually moving page elements around, but now they just overlap and obscure things, so the way it is now is actually the fix, I think.
