Dog part 2
Apr. 28th, 2011 12:24 pmIt looks like I'm going to foster another dog starting next week, unless someone adopts him this weekend, which is highly unlikely. His foster mom had an emergency sitch and they needed a backup foster right away, so I volunteered, and am wondering now if I'm crazy. I just got a rush book in and things are chaotic with Dad right now (whether he can move out of the nursing home), so this could be a very bad idea, but this poor little guy really needs someone. He's losing his sight, and the operation to save it costs thousands of dollars, which the rescue group doesn't have, so it's probable I will hit people up for donations in his name. He's a little Pomeranian mix, and I guess he's flinchy because he can't see well, but as long as people move slowly when greeting him, he's fine. The kitties will go crazy.
My neighbor has a new doberman puppy. He's 12 weeks old, and his paws are as big as my hands. He's a real charmer, but I think my neighbor is wondering what she got herself in for -- it's her first dog. Man, I would never recommend anyone's first dog be a puppy, let alone a dobie puppy. I get to enjoy him, though, without the burden of training him. ;-)
We have to send in our playlists for our Vividcon shows this weekend, and I saw a vid the other night that I'd like to include in my show. It premiered at Vidukon, but it doesn't look like anyone's posted a list of links for the vids, and I already can't remember who made it -- it was for Olivia on Fringe, to Suzanne Vega's Small Blue Thing, and if anyone has the contact info for the vid, could you drop me a comment? I thought it would fit really well in the show I'm doing.
Both Fringe and Justified have me feeling deeply tense and nervous about their upcoming finales. I have many things I want to say, but I don't have the vocabulary at times. All I can do is flail and cover my eyes.

Date: 2011-04-29 02:16 am (UTC)All I know (I think!) is that Raylan prolly won't die. Boyd might not. I'd like for Ava not to, but I've got no . . . reason to believe that Winona won't. OTOH, I want to see all the Bennetts cold and in the ground. Especially what's-his-nose, the sheriff brother. Although, it might be enough punishment for Mags to see all her boys dead at Raylan's hand.
Then, Tim can nurse Raylan back to health and they can move into a nice house where Tim can screw Raylan through their bed regularly.
Heeeeee.

Date: 2011-04-29 09:56 pm (UTC)There is a dual track schedule, where one room shows vids in different shows VJed by the people who come up with the idea, and panels in the other room that discuss things about vid watching and vid making (I've run panels on literalism vs. metaphor, vidding with additional source (stuff not in the fandom), vidding historical fandoms, and aesthetics, to give you an idea of paneling stuff.
The two big events are the premieres show on Sat. night and Club Vivid, the dance vid extravaganza, on Friday night. And after premieres, there is vid karaoke, which is one of my favorite things evar.
