I finally got enabled into torrenting a few months ago. Everyone told me to stay away from this place or that place, and stick to Mininova. I was fine with that because I found most of what I was looking for there. Now, however, Mininova is gone. And I'm lost in cyberspace because I don't really know what's good out there. People basically put the fear of god in me about just generally searching around. And I know demonoid is still gone.

So, where to go, where to go? Are there places you frequent that don't require a sekrit handshake (or if they do, can you teach me the handshake?)? I have never been all that great with this stuff.

Thank you to all the people who gave me LJ snowflake cookies. Wow, I thanked a few people last night and then today woke up to a metric ton of them, and it was super sweet and made me feel really happy. I heart you guys.

Someday, when I get some more energy (I've been sick off and on for the past week, something that kind of scares me a little, but I'm trying to just wait it out), I have a bunch of stuff to write about teevee, but that will have to wait.

I've always had very good luck with isohunt and piratebay. Also there's tvtorrents which I've used for years and never had any problems with. You have to sign up, which in a way is good because it means that not just anyone can go rummaging about. They start you off with 1GB of credit for downloading and the only thing you have to do to build your credit is seed back. They're only TV shows - old, new, American, British.

Also, no torrents but very handy is [livejournal.com profile] tvshare. People upload shows onto servers like Megaupload. They're very good about taking requests, too.
