I've posted the first part of what is probably going to be a lot of parts of a Steve/Bucky fic. Yeah, it's basically just the 5,363,729th version of this story, but I still want to write it. And I had no idea that I had apparently wanted to write a lot of Steve and Bucky pre-war and during the war, but now I do.

I have loved you across decades and centuries, over countries and continents and oceans.

I'll probably be noodling with it a bit later (because I can't stop noodling with it), but right now I've got a kind of editing emergency situation so I just wanted to get it up and focus on work and put what little spare time I have to part 2.

Also, could someone who is more savvy about AO3 explain me a thing? This first chapter has a title (as will subsequent chapters), but nothing I do will make the title appear. I've unchecked the part of a series button in hopes that maybe that's what is preventing the chapter title from appearing, but it not only will not un-check (every time I save, it still comes back as part of a series), it doesn't bring the title up either. Who does a writer have to blow to get the freakin' chapter title to show up?

Anyways, right now it's a handful of characters, but there will be a lot more of the MCU characters in here, I think. And who knows, maybe some polyamory. ;-)

The title thing is odd. It is probably because you don't have a second chapter yet. With more than one chapter, I never had trouble with chapter titles, even within series. I post individual drawbles as "chapters" in one work per fandom to not clutter up my works list with quick sketches, and bury the better stuff, and the title always shows once there are two chapters, but in cases where there is just one drawble yet only the work title shows. You might get yours to show with just one chapter by adding a draft for the second chapter that you don't publish yet, but I'm not sure about that.

That sucks. Maybe support will have an idea? Otherwise, another incentive to post the second chapter soon. ;)

No - looks like there's a fault. Wouldn't work for me either. You could report it to them ...

I did but...it just seemed easier to type in the damn chapter title. I remember a few years ago that they told me you didn't see chapter titles until you posted a second part, which just amazes me. And if that's still the case (it's not listed in the known issues, though it's similar to a problem that is), I'm kind of astounded that an archive that hosts thousands of multipart works won't let you do that after all these years.
