“Okay, so yeah, we’d need half up front.” Steve nodded his head firmly as he said it, as if he was Bucky’s agent and would henceforth handle all contractual negotiations.

I nearly choked because I was trying not to giggle loudly and wake T up. I love Steve's totally innocent deadpan, and Bucky's just stringing the Things along.

I laughed so hard I almost couldn't get to sleep when lights out was shortly after I finished reading. THANK YOU.

I just adore the idea of them trolling people together, or trolling each other. They're still such boys, you know? Despite everything. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I'm so glad (not that you couldn't sleep, but that you laughed!). I've been wanting to write this for a long time, but kept pushing it off in favor of longer things, and Bucky's birthday fic meme seemed like a good time to do it.

YES, they both _are_ still such boys! Mid-twenties! And I love naughty Steve, too, for godsakes the guy was a mouthy little scrapper. (Were you the one who had the fic where he says "I did go to art school, everyone forgets that" or something similar? That made me laugh so hard.)

It's also just really nice to see fics where they have fun. And trolling via reputation is a great example of that.

Hah, wow, you have an amazing memory--that was me, in the first fic I wrote for the fandom, as a matter of fact.

yeah, I mean, I didn't want to write about all the ways Bucky's still messed up, but he definitely has bad days still in this universe, but he's good enough he can troll people when the occasion warrants and have fun with Steve.

I LOVED THAT LINE. IT MADE ME SO HAPPY ahem. (Also my headcanon is totally that Steve went to the Art Students League -- it's free! it's right by Central Park! (I think) Steve totally went there when there wasn't a stiff breeze off the Hudson River that would snap him in two. //loves on tiny skinny artist hero Steve)
