Holy shit I don't think I saw this one! It is awesome.

It hadn't taken Sam very long, once this relationship had kicked into gear, to realize that Steve always pushed the limits of whatever he did and had probably spent most of his life, especially the war, being chased by people yelling at him to stop doing insane, stupid things. Sam was just one in a long line of folks who were both the beneficiaries of Steve's ginormous heart and courage and the stressed-out keepers of a crazy person.

SAM IS THE BEST SAM.

Sam had always wanted to tell Steve how much his story had meant to him when he was growing up, but it was kind of awkward telling the dude you were sleeping with something like that. But Sam's dad had raised him on the Howling Commandos comics, and seeing an integrated squad in the pages of his history books had gone a long way toward helping Sam figure out what he wanted to do with his life. Sometimes it was jarring, trying to square that image of Captain Steve Rogers with the guy with his hands on Sam's ass and his tongue in Sam's mouth, but Sam was more than willing to take one for the team in this case.

Hey, there were a lot of prompts! (I actually still have two prompts that I want to fill, but I think they might turn out to be longer stories, so I'm going to approach them less like prompts at the DW page and more like ideas to give someone credit for.)

I looooove hustler Steve--pool, card-sharp, whatever he does, I love him. I still have a fic idea running around in my brain that might pair with this one, about playing pool, but it's Steve and Bucky in the olden days. When I was playing pool last December with some friends it developed into a little tiny bunny.
