This is somewhat different than the vid shown at Vividcon and on the dvds; I've made some changes to fix problems I was having before the deadline. My amazing (seriously amazing) credits background graphic (and YouTube custom thumbnail is by Rival Piper Design).

This is very cool! (As a side note, this post somehow never showed on my DW reading page? Did you post it with that option? I scrolled back to make sure I didn't just miss it the first time, but it just doesn't appear for me, I only found this now because I came across a rec, I never saw it just following your journal when you posted. Same for your Titanium vid post, but the Havoc one shows.)

I honestly have no idea why the posts didn't show. I changed the date when I posted them from private to public, and I don't really understand why they wouldn't show up at all.

Ah, that explains it. The original posting date he server has is the date that counts for the position on the reading page, and it isn't reposted to display later if you change the security, even if you edit the visible date too. When I scroll back even further the posts now show inbetween the August 3 posts in my circle even though their visible date is now later. But if they were private at the posting time I couldn't have seen them then. It sucks that DW doesn't hsve proper scheduled posting. :/

I'm another one this and Titanium didn't show up for, so I don't know what happened. I can only tell you that I am seriously restraining myself from posting in allcaps right now because even allcaps could not possibly express my squee for this vid. I love that it's not just a women of Marvel vid, it's a WOMEN of Marvel vid, and it has, like, everybody. It makes me think of the awesome woman-centric fic I've read in the fandom and want more, and be even more sad at how criminally underused the female characters are in the source, and keep hoping that gets fixed, even as I know it's unlikely, but then I hope at least we get enough source to keep getting awesome fanmade product that fixes the problem. And then I think about how meta something like this is, how much it reflects the ways fandom is full of people who take the world and change it to better reflect us. And that's pretty heroic too, especially when you're feeling so invisible and deliberately erased. So for me, this vid is very much a goodness.

There were a couple of people I didn't include because I just didn't have source easily available, but overall, I really wanted to get all the key players these days. I love a lot of the women of Marvel vids I see, but they almost always focus on only the ass-kicking and the action, and I wanted to show that sometimes it's about just being strong or loving someone or doing science. That's the thing I think makes them heroic, you know? Like it can be Peggy and Angie hugging or Skye trying to puzzle out glyphs or Jane setting up equipment. And they're just as vital as Nat sailing off a freeway or Pepper saving Tony. They are ALL wonderful!

So many women doing amazing things, from kicking ass to doing the kind of subtle stuff that winds up saving the world even if no one ever knows about it. This was one of my standout vids from this year's vividcon.

Thank you! Yeah, that was one of the things I really wanted to convey--that there's more to being heroes than just beating bad guys up or shooting things. That it's about their humanity, too. I'm so glad that was something that worked well for you!
