I tried to point this out to TPTB here at work last year, when they were insisting that, in spite of us having no money, we *had* to waste an entire day (meaning zero work gets done) on an in-service day they had planned, because they put down a deposit, and food had been paid for. (I also pointed out that the food could as easily be taken to the various branches & would therefore not go to waste.)

Guess what we did last year. Yup, spent more money we didn't have on an in-service day nobody but TPTB wanted. 'Cause after all, they'd already spent good money on it....

Nice to see my viewpoint has some validity to more than just me & a few vocal miscreants here at work. *g* Thanks!
