Surgery

This is mlyn posting for Gwyn.

Last night she had yet another gallbladder attack, I think her third in the last week. This time was worse than all the others, and she called feochadn around 1 am to take her to the ER. She was transferred to a nearby hospital, where she called me around 7:30 to check on kitty_r. I did so and then stopped by her room to say hello and do anything for her. While I was there, the staff finally started making preparations to take her into surgery. I went with her to the prep area and stayed until they started anesthesia and wheeled her in.

They're doing the laproscopic surgery now, and will probably discharge her tomorrow. Her surgery was originally scheduled for Wednesday and we've been trying to coordinate driving, so it's actually a relief that they're doing it today.

I will likely pick her up from the hospital. Her dad and I are her contact people; we made sure to have an extra name when the nurse was giving her the SATs asking her pre-op questions. When I left I gave feochadn an update, and Jo has called her dad to pass the word on. I'm at Gwyn's now to pick up some post-surgery clothes.

Fingers crossed that this all goes well. I think she felt better being able to talk to the anesthesiologist and have someone there to distract her with inane blabber. I hope so, anyway.

mlyn, thanks for letting us know. And gwyn_r, by the time you see this you'll be back from surgery, so here's hoping it went well and that you'll have a speedy recovery.
