Am I the only person who watches Veronica Mars who wants V to get together with Weevil? I've loved Weevil since the first ep, when he whaled on Logan's car in retaliation, just for V's sake. And I adored their interactions through the first two seasons, and they looked so cute on a motorcycle together, and then Tuesday's ep was filled with wonderful Weevil/Veronica banter... Yeah, I know. He's never going to be in her league, whatevs. I don't think Logan is right for her, I really don't, even though I enjoyed that emo kid romance in the first season and all that. V could do her redeeming thing on him, like she's already tried to, and he could be her stalwart ex-gangbanger chevalier, and they would be so cool together! (Though what would the jackass conflation people call it -- Veevil? Weevica? ::shudder::)

Oh, cool! And I imagine Keith would have issues, but so far, her track would not be good with him either way, so I can imagine him warming up to Weevil if he stays on the good path.

Absolutely not! There is a small band of vocal Weevil/Veronica enthusiasts. The jackass conflation folks call the pairing "WeeVer." :::double shudder::: I try to avoid that term and even opened up a W/V community called head_tilt to discuss their relationship and post fic!

I'm so glad to know I'm not alone. It's not that I mind Logan and Veronica at all, it's just that I always seem to gravitate to the less obvious, or so wrong it's right, romance. I don't know why -- maybe it's my slash background or something.

Oh, lord, no, you're not the only one. yaoobruni is roundly convinced that they will wind up married, in the future which we won't see onscreen -- something about the way Weevil acknowledges Keith with "Sheriff," every time they cross paths, screams "future son-in-law" to him. *grin*

And I think V/W would be fantastic. He's wonderful and I adore him.

That said, I'm also a fan of V/L, perhaps in part because I have a longstanding love of bad boys and the attempt to redeem them, and perhaps in part because the actors have such amazing chemistry. *g*

Basically, either pairing can make me ridiculously happy, in an unabashed fannish GLEE kind of way. :-) I'm so glad we've finished S2 so we can start watching S3! My friend who pimped me into the show in the first place is having knee surgery next week, and we've been saving S3 up on our Tivo (though not watching them) in order to be able to watch eps with her during her recovery. Can't wait. :-)

You know, it's funny, but since I realize that V/W will probably never be canon, I've enjoyed the romance of V/L and really had wanted something better to come out for them last season, but there were some things at the end that really bothered me, and not to spoil you for 3, but some things recently that are really disturbing to me (personally, and I realize that I can't come into this without my own emotional baggage about being treated by a guy the way Logan has often in the past two seasons with V) in the message they're sending about what girls have to expect from guys, and so... I guess my love affair with the V/L love affair is starting to wane a bit. But as I say, that's because I have a lot of things that color my view others might not experience. I know it's fruitless to hope, but I just thing V/W are destined for each other.

Oh, you're SO not the only one! I kind of 'ship Weevil with everyone, but recently I re-watched the whole first season and it really made me 'ship Veronica/Weevil specifically. They flirt with each other ALL THE TIME. It's one of those few 'ships that I would actually *love* to see in canon, although I doubt that will happen as Logan/Veronica people are so freaking protective of their 'ship.

Yay! I confess, I love the Weevil/Logan slashy dynamic, too. (I adored Dualbunny's Cool Rider vid with all my heart.)

I know what you mean -- I would adore seeing it in canon, but I know it'll never happen, even if the show survives. I think one of the things I really love about it is that he respects her -- they may have serious disagreements, and he as awful anger management issues, but he has always shown respect for her in his own confrontational way. I'm such a sucker for that.

I think I was going more for the "league" in terms of social class --the once privileged girl thing, and even though she's now less privileged, Weevil still definitely comes from a different kind of place. But I hope he will take classes-- and hey, maybe he'll do so good, he'll rise through the ranks and start running the whole facilities department and be Mr. Management Whiz Kid. He so totally could, after running a gang! (though, yeah, that ended badly...)

I actually liked that he teared up when she told him about leaving. I know some people see it as soft, but it meant something to him, and I enjoyed seeing that he has that side to him. I wish those two crazy kids could get together!

Of course, she wasn't in their league as far as class goes, either. I think Sheriff Lamb said at one point that his salary was $35,000 per year. We can assume Veronica's dad made about the same. Her dad still worked for a living because he had to. Logan and Duncan's dads didn't. Veronica - as both Duncan's mother and Weevil have pointed out to her - was a grasping social climber.

I like the way they deal with class in that show. Veronica, Wallace, and Mac are the only kids in that high school who have middle class values. Everyone else is either rich or poor. Everyone else worries about money because they have it and know that everyone around them is looking for ways to take it away or because they don't have it and everyone around them is trying to keep it from them.

Veronica, Wallace and Mac don't worry about money quite the same way because they have the skills necessary to make money when they need it.
