For those of you who haven't found methods yet for obtaining episodes of Charlie Jade, the incredible series [livejournal.com profile] feochadn and I made our VVC premieres vid for, she's got new torrent info and also has volunteered to make discs for those who can't torrent. The discs will be high quality avi files, I believe. See her post here for info.

You want to do this, trust me! It's worth it. Just last night we were watching it and all deeply admiring Charlie's actor's crying skills. He is a perfect man-crier.

I was very bummed that ABC, those craphounds, pulled The Nine again after promising to let us see the rest of the episodes. Jeffrey Pierce, Charlie's actor, was in it, and it was cool to see him play the thug after having seen him in CJ. This guys needs a show.

If you live in the U.S., the four unaired eps are being put up at abc.com. Two of them are already up: "The Inside Man" and "Man of the Year." The other two are supposed to be added sometime before the end of the month. If you live outside of the U.S. they're supposed to be available from the iTunes store, along with the rest of the series.

Yeah, I need to find some time outside work where I'm willing to park my ass on the computer desk and watch them.

Not that I'm, you know, bitter or anything...

I'm so glad you made that vid, b/c it got me to get the show and I'm loving it (am about 3/4 through and quite pissed that there was never a second season). It's different in terms of storytelling and visually stunning and...yes!

I've already burnt it for a couple of people b/c I agree with you that it needs to get *much* more exposure :)

[And I've made myself hold off watching your vid, b/c I was afraid I might get spoiled...OK, so I watched the beginning and I love the way you're using the coloring of dreamy aspects of the show...but I stopped myself, b/c for once I actually wanted to remain unspoiled :)

So...only good thing to come out of my back problems: I pretty much will have gotten through all of the eps in 4 or 5 days...

I thought you said you weren't liking it as much you'd hoped! I'm glad that turned around, then -- I was initially going to say, maybe watch it when you're not in pain (something that dense can be hard to enjoy when you're not in the right frame of mind), but then I thought I would just come across as one of those fannish pests who think everyone should love their show as much as they do. At the very least it is incredible eye candy, I figure, so people can't go wrong in that dept.

yes, i think i wrote my post after the first or second ep, which are really confusing, i thought...i still wish they'd done a bit more with the multiverse angle (why only 3, where was their departure point, why is there only 1 character who exists on both worlds whom we know of), but now that the plot's driving the narrative and Charlie's really come into his own and the flashbacks and 01 being so much more complex and intriguing, I'm totally onboard :D

And NEVER feel like pimping your show is bad!!! :)

I've always had this feeling, and I have absolutely nothing to base it on, that if they'd been able to do another series, they would have gotten into that 3 verses thing -- maybe even we might have seen if there were others, but they weren't as technologically advanced or something. And I was deeply intrigued by there only being one doppelganger, and would have loved to know what else might have been lurking in more stories.

Grrr. I get worked up when I think about it.

Jeffrey Pierce needs a show!

His 3-episode guest spot on Close to Home had me mildly hopeful -- he was good, I liked his character, and he had chemistry with the leading lady. But the show's cancelled! Which wouldn't have upset me, had I not seen him in those episodes and thought how much of an improvement his character would be if they kept him on permanently.

The Nine, however, I couldn't quite warm to. He was maybe *too* convincing as the repugnant villain.

I can't recommend the Steven Segall movie, The Foreigner, because it sucks beyond the telling of it, but... JP looks *so* young and fresh-faced in it. Awww.

You know, I found out about Close to Home too late, but I supose it's for the best, since that show drove me batshit every time I watched it for Christian Kane.

He really was very good as the villian in Nine -- I guess it's a testament to his range that he seemed so convincing, even after knowing him as the hero in CJ. More than just a pretty face and really good gun actor (you know me and my kinks -- anyone who can convince me they *were* some kind of special ops guy by the way they move and handle a gun, I'm theirs for life).

And I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm even going to record his Judging Amy eps whenever they come on again. Gah.
