I'm so confused

Everyone and their sister has been linking to a "new" Star Trek movie trailer. Every time I follow the link, it's to a teaser that's been out for months now -- I've been watching it regularly since I got the new iMac, on the FrontRow app that I came to love so much. Where is the "new" trailer? Is there a link on the main page I'm not seeing? WTF?

We may all just be behind the curve; I hadn't seen the teaser until today, and didn't realize it had been out for months or I wouldn't have acted like it was such a big deal! I guess it's only a big deal to those of us who hadn't seen it before. *g*

Yer not alone, I saw it a long time ago, too. In fact, I saw a version of it in the theater (forget which movie). As excited as I am about the movie, the impact of the trailer is kinda being lost on me. ::shrugs:: Even when I first saw it, it looked well done and creative, but if anything, the spoilers teasers are doing more to pull me in then the trailer on the site.

I don't think there's anything new. It's odd that for some reason nobody has seen it yet - I've watched it a bunch of times since I first came across it, too.

Can't say I mind though - I love the resurgence of TOS love on my friends list, just when I'm falling back into the K/S side of things. :-)

I think a lot of people were afraid to even look in the direction of the movie, and when they saw squee, they thought--OH GOD, IT'S GOING TO BE OKAY. And that's been building all day.

I love the mystery of the tease in it, and Nimoy's voiceover. But I was all excited that there was something more substantive. Wah!

Yeah, I do love seeing how many people are squeeing. I was just all excited that there was something new, with lots of stuff in it! Such a letdown. I wonder how long we'll have to wait for something with real clips and actors.

Well, I loved your post about it -- I feel kind of the same way, and the thing is, I actually own weapons. So there's serious danger about me killing them for ruining it. But I'm hopeful. I have come to really dislike JJ Abrams, but that's largely because I think he wrecks everything after coming out of the gate strong. So maybe a movie will be better for him, with its limited time frame and his worst characteristics will be kept in check by the finite business of theatrical films.
