I really did mean it when I said I appreciate that you were willing to work with me and that you've been willing to listen to people's concerns about stuff. I think it was just sort of a shock--I'd never even contemplated needing a link policy, stuff like that just never happened to me, and the few times a post was picked up on metafandom, they were current and so there was a chance for the people to say, hey, we're doing this. But I think fanlore is very unethical, and maybe more important, they're behaving in a really uncommunity-like fashion--we're all in this together, but they're treating fandom as though it's their personal toy to do with as they please, and making use of stuff people aren't aware of, and can't take control back. I've seen other people talking about how terribly fanlore responded to their concerns about things, and I guess I was just living in blissful ignorance that these kinds of things were even going on.

I'll have to take a look at this sort of thing--I'm pretty untech-savvy, I tried to edit my contributor profile last night and it took me three tries to figure it out! I'd like to just delete it wholesale, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. Maybe this would be a good way to work around it.
