5.10 - There are 3 good things about this episode: the return of Dickie Bennett; the introduction of Katherine Hale; and the absurd hilarity of Danny Crowe's demise. Other than that? Meh. It really goes to show how important the right casting is, coz you see how hard the other actors are having to work around the charisma black hole that is Michael Rappaport.

5.11 - Art being shot is a real blow, but I can't help but be pissed off at Mrs. Art for berating Raylan for not being there. Why wasn't he there there, lady? Because your husband told him to fuck off, so that's on Art, not Raylan. Like, way to add to Raylan's daddy issues.

The hotel scene with Boyd, Duffy and Katherine is quite good. The interplay between the characters and the timing of everything is really the kind of thing this shows does so well. And the interrogation scene with Katherine and Vasquez is a delight. It's so nice to have Steenburgen playing against her wholesome type. The second part of the scene, with the cigarette pack, is truly inspired, and I love it.

The whole thing with Kendall Crowe claiming he shot Art is such crap. I cannot believe any of the very smart people in the room - other than Raylan, who knows better - buy such a "perfect" story. Why are they suddenly so credulous when everyone knows the Crowes are always lying?
