6.8 - Raylan burning Arlo's things is very sad, but completely understandable. We all know it's not going to help Raylan in the long run, and he probably knows that, too, but he's doing it anyway.
Y'know, I think the fight between Raylan and Zachariah encapsulates a lot about this show. Shared history turns into a fight turns into a weird sort of courtesy with an acknowledgment that a reckoning will come. Both of these guys are fully aware of all the angles of this but they're still going to play it out.
Dillahunt again proves what an asset he is to villain-hood by having Walker be very scary, oddly sympathetic, and one of the few people who has a pragmatic view of the situation. In other circumstances, I could see a Walker-Duffy team up going far in Bluegrass crime world.
I am delighted by how Katherine is managing to juggle the information she's doling out to all these men. Who are oddly credulous and/or accepting of her scheming. Kinda like, "Yeah, we're not going to beat her head on, so just roll with it." Her telling Art to show himself out really amused me, since that's the sort of thing he's always doing to other people.
With the Raylan-Markham alliance, I do have to wonder if Markham knows he's being played and wants to see where it's going, or if he's taking the deal on face value, which would be a bit odd for a guy who's been on top of so much so far.
A lot of plot moves quickly in the back half of the episode as all the plans start to come together. It's a helluva lot righter plotting than, what, ALL of season 5? And I appreciate that.
6.9 - Katherine is just so very enjoyable. So calm, so many steps ahead.
The collusion between Loretta and Boyd feels like a bad idea and yet, on another level, is very satisfying. And her stepping up to throw Markham off his stride by taking over the land is a fantastic moment.
A really nice twist with the failed robbery, although in another way I would have liked to have seen them pull it off.

Date: 2020-06-11 06:12 am (UTC)24 hours on the fainting couch are over. hee. Tim showing up to give Raylan grief, but then Raylan is like see ya. Okay I know they are not actually in each other's presence all that much this episode but I loved their exchanges, and especially that phone call. "Jesus Christ, Raylan."
This is an Uh Oh Dillahunt episode. Also a Bye bye Dillahunt. Kinda sad actually. He's always so entertaining. Before he was business menacing now he is wild animal menacing.
I once again LOL'd at Mikey. "He loves Guac!"
Hmmm scruffy Art continues to be delightful. <3
The way Katherine says "little Mexican ausa" lol. Being Mexican I am amused, though is Vasquez even Mexican? Probably not. Google is not telling me if Rick Gomez is or not.
We got Boyd and Walker vs Raylan and Markham.
Loved Raylan commenting on how he's going to miss the verbal sparring with Boyd.
I LOL'd again when Raylan said "All the good [lawyers] have ponytails." hahaha
Markham deserves to be burgled, agreeing to show the inside of his safe to Boyd like that. Mayhaps I watched too much Leverage. Classic next movie would have been to move the money so the bad guys steal an empty vault. Of course that's not how this particular set of events play out, and bless Boyd but he is ultimately a terrible criminal. He should stick to robbing banks.
"The past is a statement, the future is a question."
Why does Raylan have to go check out scary bunker in the DARK. Jeez.

Date: 2020-06-11 06:18 am (UTC)Katherine speaking French on the phone to get someone to come clean up the hotel room had a very John Wick feel to it lol. Bye Bye Scott Grime's character who's name I don't know. You weren't smart enough to check her purse first.
Tim winding up Mikey was awesome, especially with that Tim smile right after. <3
That was a very good scene between Loretta and Boyd.
My memory is swiss cheese right now, but why does that weirdo with the bad fringe haircut seem so familiar? I love the old times wild west vibe coming off him. The show mimics old westerns often but sometimes it just might as well be set in the old west.
Honestly how could Boyd continue to trust Zachariah after he killed the other dude! And then yell at Ava for it. She needs to get out of that relationship. How does one keep their hearing after surviving an explosion like that? Boyd should be deaf for a week after that.
I'm with Rachel -- what the hell is the icky shuffle? Football reference I guess.
