Date: 2012-01-21 05:11 pm (UTC)Thing of it is, Seattle gets snow, but it doesn't regularly get SNOW-My-GAWD! So on top of the fact of all the hills and bridges in a major metropolis (not a pop. 10k town in the hills and hollers), it self an issue, driving in the SNOW takes knowhow, and your city doesn't have the plans and amount of equipment that Chicago, NYC, Minneapolis, have to deal with SNOW. And that makes a huge difference
(About 3 years ago Las Vegas south of Tropicana shut down when the southern part of the valley got SNOW [up to 2 feet at the very edges] because the both the snowplows that the county owns were about 60 miles away at Mt Charleston. Yeah, like 2 snowplows would've been enough.)
