It's a brutal yet very aesthetic show, and you've really carried that across. as well as Luther's slow fall into...whatever it is Alice represents :)

Oh, thank you! Yeah, I've written many times about how much I almost hate watching it, because it's so grotesque, but the stuff with John and Alice (and Justin!) floats my boat enough that I can work around it.

Thank you! It's really a glorious show to vid, there are so many possibilities of things to do with it. Especially first series, they did some stunning cinematography.

I love this vid a lot. (I just went back to edit my con report to include the link, and discovered that I forgot to list this in my con report, which -- bad Kass! no biscuit! anyway, fixed now.) I love the way the pull between them comes through for me even though I don't know the show. I love how clearly his psychological agony comes through. I love the way you used color -- which is perhaps the way the show uses color -- the way the red of the apple, his tie, the ivy on the wall just pops -- and also I love Idris Elba, so hey. This show is totally on my to-watch list now.

You're so cute! I'm really glad that that stuff came through for a non-viewer, that makes me happier than almost anything. It's a gorgeous, gorgeous show for something so disturbing, and Idris is just freaking amazing in it.

Oh wow, this just made me bump Luther way up on my To Watch list. I have got to know more about what's going on here!

You know, it's one of the more over the top grotesque shows I've ever watched (season 2 and 3 are very difficult for me to watch, and there's not much that grosses me out), but Idris Elba is beyond compelling in it, and what's going on with him and Alice is pretty spectacular!

Hooray Luther vid! I know it's totally wrong, but Luther and John/Alice and John/red tie is absolutely my happy place, and I don't care how creepy that is (okay I do often fast forward the most grotesque and suspenseful parts). This is everything a Luther vid should be, it builds such an unrelenting tone, builds up the psychological devastation and uses the gorgeous cinematography and direction of the show so well. Luther: the show where the recurring serial killer is a break from the darkness. <3 I love the way you used the imagery of the passport and postcards to more directly construct John and Alice's post-show sexy world travels, which we all know is precisely what happened next.

It was so strange at VVC premieres, thinking that a Luther vid was one of the cheerier vids in the show this year, because yeah, so much of it is stuff I have to FF through as well (and I'm not normally easily squicked). Goodness - again, I am just shamelessly in love with this vid. It's so striking and vivid, and i love how completely you communicate the arc of the story through the way you weave together each clip. Watching it at home, I'm struck by how much use you make of the edges of the frame - corners especially - and what a marvelously fragmented feel that supplies. LOVE. It's almost enough to make me check out the other seasons :D
