Man, you think you're invisible already, and then you find out that your fic doesn't even show up on an automated AO3 Tumblr fic feed for your pairing. With the legit tags and everything. Like, ever. I didn't believe I could be any more invisible than I already was, but I was wrong!


Remastering vids is always hard, which is why I hate to do it. You'd think that a movie vid would be easier to remaster, but it's turning out to be a struggle, especially with timing, since the cam copy I was working from had some timing differences, not to mention the framing issues -- there's one clip where before, Maria Hill wasn't even visible in the clip, but now she is. Hilar.

I don't know if this is the issue with you, but the AO3 RSS feeds (which is what the Tumblr feeds all pull from) only post new fic, as far as I can tell, leaving WIPs at a disadvantage. So if your fic was multichapter it went up on the feeds with Chapter 1 only, and anyone who wanted to read the next parts had to be subscribed to you/subscribed to the story/checking your profile, or manually checking the main fandom/pairing tag page.

Huh! The person who told me that none of my stuff has ever shown up in the feeds didn't mention that (I honestly didn't even really know much about them). Thanks for the info.

Right; they were letting us know the Archive kept dropping tags. That probably affected tumblr feeds...

Hm. I confess I don't know much about it. Just what the person told me -- that she only stumbled on me by accident but primarily uses the different feeds.

This is the strangest remaster -- the timing thing is so, so weird. I didn't realize how much more stretched out the interlacing was making things.

I will. I'm almost finished, but there's definitely some timing tweaks to make. It sure does feel different.

I guess? But I mean, the person who mentioned it to me told me she only found my stuff by accident and that none of my stuff has shown up on that feed. Though sineala said that chaptered stories wouldn't, so.

Yeah, I wish I understood more about this stuff. The person who told me about it probably thought they were being helpful, but it just made me depressed.

Yeah, I'm not really sure how it's effecting the way people search since a) I'm not actually signed up at AO3 and b) I don't search tags very often. All I know is that it's been going on for a couple of weeks now.
