Agent Carter
Jan. 7th, 2015 12:23 amWell, that was fantastic. I'm happy flailing all over the place. All I can do is pray that Marvel will give us more. Eight episodes won't be enough, I'm sure.
And I'm totally surprised by this, but I kinda fell in love with Jarvis. He makes a great sidekick for Peggy, and every badass lady should have a polite, well-behaved, surprisingly competent sidekick, if you ask me.
And I loved all the callbacks to the movie, and to Steve. Oh Pegs, oh Steve.

Date: 2015-01-07 03:01 pm (UTC)(The only thing I need now is a tale of how a young Alfred Pennyworth, newly parted from the military and making a huge career change, was mentored by Jarvis. And also got in a little shameless flirting with Agent Carter.)

Date: 2015-01-08 09:24 am (UTC)It is a universal truth that a fantastic or superheroic story requires leads that can sell the hell out of the material. In Hayley Atwell, Agent Carter has found its Harrison Ford/Christopher Reeve/Sean Connery/William Shatner; a charismatic force of nature that sucks all the light in the room toward it, forcing every other actor to react to her in every scene. It’s a total star turn and she made practically every line sing.
This thing had better not disappoint me down the road.
