I had a giggle this morning. I haven't heard anything about my Winter Soldier Groundhog Day fic for a long time, but then got two comments in a row and a few kudos. And then I realized today's, you know, Groundhog Day. Hilar!! It never occurred to me that people would actively go out and seek Groundhog Day trope stories on February 2. Have other people who've written time loop stories like that seen that happen? It's so sweet and funny.

Anyway, AMC is having a Groundhog Day the movie marathon today, where the movie keeps repeating. I fully intend to watch it at least a couple times while I finish up a new fic to post later today.

Right? I'm just bummed because I only tuned in this afternoon, and apparently they're only running it till 8 ET, and I'm on PT, so I only get to loop it once. ;-)

Oh, how cool! (Both getting shiny new comments for the occasion, and looping the movie ...) I have never noticed that, but I'm also not sure if I've ever written anything that qualifies as straight-up time-loop fic -- time travel, yeah, and skipbacks to fix a thing, but not quite that sort of thing.

I have a feeling it's because of the Groundhog Day tag on the story on AO3, like, people have been able to look specifically for that or something. It's such a peculiar little holiday that I would never have expected people to go out looking!

I saw someone reccing that fic on Tumblr today after a request for Groundhog Day fic! Maybe that's where the influx came from.
