Cleaning up reading lists

I'm trying to cut down on all the repeats from LJ to Dreamwidth that I have on my reading lists, so if you received a notification that I took you off my friends list, it just means I'm also interacting with you on DW! I find that with DW's ability to reply on my actual reading list page rather than always having to open a new page, and my browser being really wonky lately, that's the place it's easiest and most likely for me to interact with people.

And if you have a DW account but I don't interact with you there, and you'd like to, let me know what it is and I'll follow you there! But if you're only on LJ that's cool too. These days my LJ list is like a ghost town anyway. I kind of miss the busy days when that was how I started my morning, reading through everyone's posts and hearing all the news.

I miss those days too. I still keep DW and LJ open in adjacent tabs but it's a lot quieter around here than it used to be.

Yeah, surprisingly, Dw is a lot more active fr me than LJ these days.

I'm guessing this means I should probably make a real effort to remember to crosspost to Dreamwidth? :-) I do it manually and it does sometimes slip my mind.

Not that I've been posting a whole lot here lately... it seems like either nothing is really going on with my life, so there's nothing to post. Or there's a whole LOT going on and I don't have time to post... and by the time I do, it's all in the past and not as interesting to talk about. :-p

Since DW crossposts with just a checkbox, I post in that and it does it automatically here. But I can't do it when I have photos, since i often upload pics to LJ and then I have to post there first, and manuall port it over to DW. I'm thinking of just not paying for LJ anymore, which is why I'm cleaning up.

I got a Permanent account one of the times they offered it. It was steep enough at the time that I really dithered about it, but even with all the problems they've had over the years, I'm really glad I did it. I've ended up staying here long enough that it's paid for itself several times over, so it ended up being well worth. I don't suspect they'll ever be offering that sort of deal again any time soon.

Yes, thank you for reminding me! I know--I'm thinking of just not paying for LJ anymore, since only a handful of people are still LJ only for me, and the communities I kept it for are definitely dying off.
