As I sit here freezing, waiting for the furnace guys to come, I've had lots of time to clean up the freshly betaed story, and it is now up (of course, I post this on a weekend, thus guaranteeing even less readership than normal! I'm a schmuck, but at least it'll give the shutins something to do).

This is the sequel to Heliotrope that I posted a snippet of a bit ago, and it's called The Sun, The Moon, The Stars. In which: nothing really happens but a lot of blabbing, I fanwank the aging of our favorite vampires, and I give anyone who reads it hypoglycemic shock from the sheer treacleyness of it all.

But hey, have fun anyway. ;-) Ali, if you reread it, make sure you go all the way to the end.

And now I'm off to try my hand at Miami Vice slash -- I'm almost afraid I've forgotten how to write slash!

OH you are so wonderful. I love you and the way you write. I'm all sighed out now. Thank you!

Thank you, sweetie! Now, see, there's something to say you've accomplished -- you've made someone hit their sigh limit. I like that. ;-)

I read it. I liked it quite a bit. I'm too sleepy to say anything more coherent than I hope you keep writing, whether sequels or new stories or whatever, because you're a really good and thoughtful writer.

I'm so excited to see a sequel to Heliotrope! I have printed it out, and will save it to read tonight after my kids go to sleep...

If she ever did write the story of her life, she wanted the pages to be filled with these kisses, with the imprint of his lips on hers, her hands on his body.
Oh my gosh! That is just gorgeous, as is the whole story. I think one of my co-workers thinks I'm in love with him, because while reading this story I kept looking up at him with watery eyes and slight smiles.
Thanks for posting- if this is how you do sequels, then I love your sequels.

You have to tell me if your co-worker starts acting funny around you now -- that would just kill me if something like that happened! LOL!! I love the idea of having to let him down easy by telling him it was fanfic-induced. ;-)

Ali, if you reread it, make sure you go all the way to the end.

Thank you, sweetums :)

Just want to chime in again that i really adored this. It was nothing like a sequel, it can stand so nicely on its own as just Buffy's tale, Buffy's understanding of it all finally. You wrote her beautifully, every facet of her personality, and her understanding, or lack thereof. I am still in deep adoring of your explanation of vampire-aging, the early morning scene between Spike and Buffy, the death-defying scene, and the Giles/Buffy moment in the gallery. All of it created such a beautiful story.

(of course, I post this on a weekend, thus guaranteeing even less readership than normal! I'm a schmuck, but at least it'll give the shutins something to do)

Well, since i planned on pimping this(and don't even get all bashful and try to talk me out of it), i will make sure to do it on monday. And also, why don't you wait to annoucne it over at CW til Monday?

P.S. May i ask in this cryptic way, did you think anything about that final suggestion in my beta-ing? Not pushing, just curious what you thought about it.

Oh, don't worry about the pimpage -- I was just having this conversation the other day with someone where we both agreed that putting up posts on weekends means you won't reach most people, as they won't likely see it and don't always scroll back all the way through voluminous friends lists. So of coruse I post on the weekend. ;-) I've never noticed a difference, though, in terms of readership, for me anyway.

::sigh:: Your writing is always enthralling and so beautiful. I loved this ... Buffy's easy relationships with Giles and Willow, your depiction of an open, loving Buffy, and even the way you describe a kiss:
Buffy gripped his hair with her fingers, pulled his mouth to hers for hard kisses. His tongue slid, firm and savory like an oyster, through her mouth, to the back of her throat.
Just glorious ... thanks Gwyneth! I'm so glad I stayed up to read this all the way through. Now to bed ;)

Hey, thank *you* for staying up to read it! That's always kind of a cool thing to hear, that you could make someone stay awake instead of putting them to sleep. ;-)

I was gonna send you a mail one of these days, and see if you wanted to get together. I'll get my schedule together and see what it looks like, and be in touch!

Love, love it, sun, moon, stars, the whole shebang.

They kissed, steeped in the sweet ache of understanding and forgiveness, for a very long time. If she ever did write the story of her life, she wanted the pages to be filled with these kisses, with the imprint of his lips on hers, her hands on his body.

I do want these storypages of Buffy's life and I do want you to be the one who writes them.

Beautiful writing. Thank you.

I'm so glad you liked it! The whole shebang. ;-) Who knows, maybe that book will be another part of the story.

Wonderful read.

A touch of Indiana Jones with the most heartfelt I love you every written. I think your Buffy may have actually topped Spike in her capacity to love.

Indiana Jones! Cool. And here I thought nothing really happened in the story and was thinking it was all just yakking!

Awww. That was very sweet. Nice to see Buffy caring about Spike. I thought your versions of the periphery characters were done well too; your Giles and Willow really rang true as more mature versions of those characters. Do you mind if I archive it?

Thanks -- and I'm really looking forward to having a little quiet time to read yours, hopefully today, so I can get back to you with feedback. Or maybe I'll catch you on AIM sometime this week.
