So much for that plan...
Nov. 26th, 2006 10:06 pmI was planning to head up to Vancouver, my second favorite city in the world, to run away for my birthday like I did last year, but we are actually getting snow here, and
claudia_yvr, with whom me and
myln were supposed to visit, said she woke up to half a foot up there and it's still flurrying. So now I don't know if we can make it, and it's long past the 72 hour cancellation deadline, so i will lose the entire fee for the room -- not cheap, since it's the Westin Bayshore. Am trying not to get my panties in a bunch, though, since the snow isn't sticking to roadways much here, and I don't know how bad the interstate is going to be tomorrow. I guess I'll bunch the panties after I see what it's like tomorrow. There really aren't much in the way of hills on this trip, though, so unless it's impassable just north of Bham, it shouldn't be too bad. I'm the girl who learned to drive in snow in Minn., after all.
People keep asking if there's anything I wish for for my b-day or christmas. Well, yes and no. I do have an Amazon wishlist, but I really don't mention it -- I hate feeling like I'm begging. It's mostly for my dad, because he can never figure out what to get. He likes to buy me small appliances. he's just that kind of a guy.
What I would really like (besides just to take some time to talk with someone and have some tea and tell them about my sister but I don't think most people want to do that) is mostly pretty simple. I would like to hear some feedback on a vid (especially the recent ones) or a story if you've never left feedback before, including concrit but if you enjoyed something, even better; I would love to just discuss by email or something a vid or story if you were inclined to say something detailed (many of my most wonderful online friends are people I met after writing them a letter about something they did, or them writing to me, and we kept conversing); I would love a story or ficlet or something like that for my favorite characters (they are not hard to find, as most are listed in my interests); I would love just a personal note or something so that we could chit-chat if you had the time or finding me on lj talk on the rare days I'm there to talk about life, the universe, and everything, because I so rarely ever chat with anyone anymore and I miss it; I would love, most especially, to hear from people I never get the chance to converse with because they are time-crunched or they've moved on to other fandoms and we don't see each other for various reasons.
Any of that would be the best present, really. Or world peace.
