A couple people asked me who #1 was in the Men Who Make Me Happy of my last post -- since I'd called it #2 (and that's not order in my heart, it's just order in which they appeared). The first one was actually I believe the second or third entry I ever made in the journal, so was very short and then segued into a mini-review of the second season premier of 24. Apparently I wasn't yet at the stage of droning on and on like my thoughts mattered. ;-) But it was a little rhapsody over Clive Owen, another favorite and often overlooked British actor, since the recent (and apparently last) spate of BMW films had come out, in which he played the Driver. I'm sure once King Arthur comes out this summer (boy, is this going to be a great summer for men I love on the big screen), I will want to go back and re-rhapsodize. Friends are whingeing about how much potential both Troy and King Arthur have to suck in terms of historical accuracy, etc., but hell, I don't care. Arthur has Clive Owen in a major leading role, and Ioan Gruffud, and both of them looking hot with the long dark hair and the Roman armor. Not to mention Keira Knightley (Beckham and Pirates) shooting a longbow.

It's always interesting to reread posts from a long time ago. I mentioned wanting to vid to the series Clive made a few years back called Second Sight -- I hadn't yet found music for it. It must not have been much later that I did, and made the vid for it.

And now off to my writing group, and then to Tacoma to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] rainkatt from Portland! Whee!!

I might even get in a usage post later this evening, if things work out.

Ahh, Clive. Thanks for the link. That was before I'd found your journal, so it was nice to go back and see your post about one of my favorite men to watch.

Having had the pleasure of the watching "Second Sight" series 2 in its entirety recently, I was marvelling yet again at why Clive Owen wasn't getting meatier roles on screen when I heard about "Troy". The man drips with charisma. I recall that the first thing that popped into my mind after watching "Bourne Identity" was a desire to read a fic about Owen's character, because he managed to subtly shade a throwaway character who could easily have been one-note.

If you made a vid on Ross Tanner, I'd be all over it like a rash, I'm just sayin'.

Well, hey, you don't even have to get red skin or scratch -- it's available once again on DVD-R! This was the second to last vid I made on VCRs, and it's part of a collection that [livejournal.com profile] feochadn and I put out last year of the last batch of vids we made before I got the computer and moved on up to the deeelux apartment... no wait, I mean, computer vidding.

The disc is available free o' charge for the cost of a postage paid self addressed envelope. There are nine other vids on the collection, but I've never been able to find any Second Sight vids elsewhere, so this may be a pretty singular offer! If you want the disc, just drop me a line privately and I can give you the mailing details. Should only cost a little over 80 cents or so for the single disc if the envelope isn't too heavily padded or big.

Speaking of "Troy" and given that he's one of the men who makes you happy - I trust you've seen these pictures of Sean Bean (http://www.livejournal.com/community/bean_daily/121218.html) as Odysseus?

I'm totally with you on the not caring about historical accuracy because Sean! And Ioan! And Clive Owen! And I even have a little girl-crush on Keira Knightley. There is just not going to be any bad there ;)
