I was out breaking my back in the garden and I looked up to see five bald eagles circling over my neighborhood. Five. Bald eagles.

They hung around long enough for me to watch for a while, dust off, creep into the house, and get my binoculars. There were only two of them by then, but it was a male and female pair, and the male had what looked to be about a four-foot wingspan. He's a big boy. They just circled around and around, floating in the blue sky against a faint daytime quarter-moon, and then left eventually, followed by screeing seagulls.

This is my neighborhood. A view of the Olympic mountains just up the street, a greenbelt with eagles and red-tailed hawks, a spectacular beach and park ten minutes' walk from my house. I live in the coolest place. :-D

It's a good omen. I haven't even had my coffee yet and I'm sending good thoughts your way for your appointment this morning!

Very cool - and gorgeous to watch, I'm sure.

I hate you ;-) It'll be 90 degrees here today. Sigh...

I love your Stitch icon! I'm a Stitch maniac and have been looking for prospective icon pix, yet haven't found a lot of usable source material. Can you point me towards any?

Just surfing by...dunno even how I got here...

Raptor sightings are always cool, and it doesn't really get old even if you work with raptors, as I frequently do.

Fun fact with which to amaze your friends: the female of the pair would be the bigger bird that you saw. Raptors are reverse sexually dimorphic (most of 'em, anyway), with females up to a third again larger than their mates. Cool, eh?
