Still here
May. 10th, 2004 12:25 pmI'm actually starting to have feeling in my neck and shoulders again (other than bone-crushing agony), which is, you know, a good thing. And important to the fact that I started the contract job last week, so...But I'm still here, and I apologize for being such a crummy correspondent. To get back in the game, I will write a little essay on Why I Love Wesley, since he's been on my mind a lot, both through Angel and because I'm making a vid about him. I don't know why it is, but I seem to be more connected to characters who are insane or grieving. Both is a bonus.
The job is quite intense, but the people I'm working with are really nice. It's very busy, which is good, and I've been thrust into the workflow a little quicker than anticipated when the person I was to be filling in for during her maternity leave ended up having her baby much sooner than expected. I'm having trouble adjusting to the really early hours -- I'm so not a morning person it's not funny -- but I hope it won't stay this bad for long. Anyway, if you're interested at all, I've done some marginal proofing on a couple of stories so far, and you can see my meager efforts at slate.msn.com (not all of them were ones I worked on, but a fair number were). In fact, a couple of stories I've seen mentioned in LJs were ones I actually had a chance to work on. It's fun to read all this interesting information; outside of the free pop, it's the best perk. ;-)
Now if they just had those damn transporters perfected.
