I am *too* alive!
May. 17th, 2004 12:54 pmSeriously. I really am, I just suck lately. I have one excuse for not having done a usage post for over a month, worked on my latest chapter of Measure of a Man, or done my Wesleylove essay -- I've been in vid farr, to steal a phrase from
sockkpuppett and
sisabet. Also, I can't stand these stupid split keyboards that I'm stuck with at the new job, and so I can't type anything coherent (honestly, I typed better with my broken arm!) here and then when I get home...vids. And garden and housework and dad stuff.
Finished the Wes and Lilah vid for Vividcon last night, though the ending sucks and I can't, within iMovie's limitations, get the last half minute to turn out right. I have no idea if it sucks or not, and am hoping to get to a beta soon, but it went really fast once I got those S4 discs (thank you again,
tiashome!!!) The aspect ratio is different than the R1 discs, so I'm crossing my fingers that the differences in presentation -- squeezed and non-squeezed, widescreen and wider screen -- won't matter too much. With luck the story will be all that matters. No one ever griped at me about My Beautiful Reward or any of the other things I've done with differing treatments, so hopefully it won't matter.
Still haven't seen Van Helsing or Troy -- yes, both movies I'd review, usually, but I'm not sure now when I'll get a chance to see the former, but hoping soon to see the latter, because, you know, Sean Bean, Eric Bana, and two of my beloved old guys -- Brian Cox and lifelong crush Peter O'Toole. Some guy named Brad's in it, too, I hear, though he's not a big deal to me (though I like his new arms muchly). (And I don't care about spoilers, so don't worry about commenting on either movie in my space if you feel like it.)
No, alas, just a vidding fool right now. I gotta take a rest. I was thinking of starting the Miami Vice song edits, but... my arm needs a rest, and I'm still working on the Robbery Homicide vid. I've churned out a vid a month, basically, for the past six months (for some folks, that might not be a lot, but for me, with my style of editing, that's A LOT), and I'm tired! Myabe I inherited Lindsey's evil hand. Plus all that writing and stuff, and trying to cope with the loss of Angel. What I need is a hammock and some cabana boys and a nice long rest.

Date: 2004-05-17 01:21 pm (UTC)I dreamed recently that I was at next year's Escapade vid show, sitting there waiting for it to start. And then the lights dimmed and a projector started rolling (I know we don't use reel-to-reel projectors anymore, but it was a dream, so whatever)...and then I woke up, still all excited and feeling kind of thwarted that I have to wait until February now. *g*
