Stop me before I kill again
Jun. 10th, 2004 03:44 pmI have this dumb idea for a vid and I think I need to be talked out of it. If you're my friend, you'll discourage me. Why? Because I'm not even sure it's doable, for one thing, and another, I've got a million other vids on deck, waiting for their turn at bat, and it's yet another Spike vid (because the world doesn't have enough, you know?), and my arm is feckin' killin' me (I'm seriously thinking of investing in a Wacom tablet to ease my RSI -- anyone have much experience with them?), and I have tech difficulties on my Wes/Lilah vid to work out anyway, and... lots of stuff to do, especially the garden.
The song is Everclear's Santa Monica, which I cannot get out of my head. I keep seeing Spike in BS7, AS5. The lines about living beside the ocean and swimming out past the breakers would be a bitch to do, and of course they repeat ad nauseaum... see, this is why it's a bad idea. But the rest of it feels so post-Buffy Spike! And I love the idea of the repeating end lines "watch the world die."
I hate when I get consumed with vid visions. It never ends well.

Date: 2004-06-10 04:12 pm (UTC)Don't feel bad; I have 'Summerland' on my list as a Spike/Buffy video (come on: "We have lost the power to make each laugh" is so their S6 relationship; the rest of it of course is troublesome at best). Sadly, I have no power (nor will) to dissuade you from this course. Unless you have more Firefly vids in the hopper, in which case I'll summon some anti-Everclear vidding argument.

Date: 2004-06-11 10:53 am (UTC)I also have a wrist pad for my keyboard and I tell you, I don't know what I'd do without it. When I'm at other people's computers and don't have a wrist pad, I detest typing without it. There are also mouse pads with wrist rests built into them. I've never used one of those though.

Do it, do it, do it!
my arm is feckin' killin' me
Oh no :-( Maybe you need one of those wrist pads too -- they're mouse pads with a big padded area to support your wrist.

Date: 2004-06-11 10:44 am (UTC)Hey, I think -- if I get these tech problems cleared up -- I am finished with the S4 discs and can return them to you. With, of course, a copy of the vid that hopefully I can get cleaned up enough so you can watch it!

Date: 2004-06-10 09:20 pm (UTC)And I really like that song, so I'm not in any hurry to talk you out of it. :-)
Hey, if I give you my email address, can I have a password to see your vids? ascian@rawbw.com. (Um, if the answer is no, don't worry about it...)
