RL and fan life intersection
Jun. 15th, 2004 01:05 pmIt's rare when your fannishness can help you do a better job at work. Today I proofed an article about The Shield written (very well, in fact) by a NYPD cop. I had to own my fangirliness in my list of fixes: "Actually, it's at the end of its third season" and "he's billed as Walton on the credits" and so on. Kind of embarassing, but fun, too, in a way.
Internet radio is a wonderful thing. I can't play my usual slate of CDs at work because the person whose office I'm using has some older and malfunctioning equipment. So I tuned in to some radio stations and am just finding tons of new material. Not that I need to be on the prowl for new music, especially not for vids, but still... some of these folks I've never heard of before, and it's great to get a chance to check them out aurally with no money down. It's not something I can do at home because of the dialup, but if I ever get DSL, I'm definitely going to subscribe to some of these very eclectic and hip stations.
No substantial updates for a while, such as the Buffy S6 review and the Wes thing. I'm just feeling really down, really overwhelmed and overcome and ground down by life. At some point I promise I'll get those things up, at least the S6 review. Just not right now.

Date: 2004-06-15 02:50 pm (UTC)I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope things improve, and soon! And I hope you're going to VVC, too?
Oh, and I love your icon! I finally saw Troy over the weekend (and liked it *far* more than I expected, given the comments I've seen), and got to see the King Arthur trailer. Holy crap, I am *so* there on July 7! Woo!
