New Justified vid: Lost Cause

It's no secret that I love Justified more than a little bit. I frequently believe they somehow read my mind and made a show just for me, and Raylan Givens makes me so very happy. When I am in love, I have to make vids.

This one has a somewhat unusual POV in that it's Raylan looking at himself from others' eyes. Beck's album Sea Change has always really spoken to me; I liked the melancholy that infuses the entire album, since it's based on a breakup, and it matches the underlying melancholy I see in the series that I love so much.

I hadn't heard of the community before, so I joined, but of course, still haven't posted about the vid. I guess I better get on that. ;-) (Yeah, it's kind of weird, you'd think people would be eager for a vid in the communities, but no one seemed at all interested in the one comm I'm in... it's not like there are a lot of vids for the show!)

Beautiful! Even without your explanation the POV angle-of-difference was evident and much enjoyed. This show is a bite of a pie a few hundred miles from me and I recognize the *feel* of the towns and the people. Kentucky is a lot more polite than Illinois but it's also more mannerisms and propriety which add a lot more layers to the mix. That's why, in addition to so many other things, that I adore this show. And you've caught that, yessiree!

ps...are you going to Escapade this year? Please say you are!

I think I can go to Escapade... I still haven't registered, but I guess I should do that soon. It's a bit more than I think I can swing, but since I didn't go to VVC this year, I think if I don't go somewhere soon, I will wither.

Wow, this is a beautiful vid. I love how well you made the movement of the show fit the feel of the song. I mean, damn, Timothy Olyphant walks just like Beck sings.

And god, Raylan's relationships with other people! The melancholy is perfect, without being too bleak.

Holy cow that was gorgeous. I love how you kick us off with such atmosphere right away, and you keep it up throughout. I love the bit about the people he 'used to know' (I think that was the lyric) and that ending! Wonderful vid. Made me excited for season 2. :)
